Jason is a shareholder attorney with Smith, Mills & Schrock.  He represents employers and insurance companies in the areas of workers’ compensation, employment law and civil liability.  Jason also practices in the areas of criminal law, municipal law, family law and nursing home law.  Jason has spoken regularly at local seminars and has also conducted in-house training sessions for employers and insurers to address issues in the areas of workers’ compensation and employment law.

Jason is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.



Jason is licensed to practice law in Iowa. Jason’s practice involves administrative law and state law venues.

During his time in the Bahamas, Jason was also certified as an EMT for the Trauma One Ambulance Service, assisting in over 600 emergencies.

When he is not in the office, Jason enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Pamela and their young son, Bradley, his family, and friends.  His hobbies include outdoor sports, watersports and working on classic cars.  Jason is originally from the Bahamas and grew up on the ocean, relocating to Iowa in 2002.  Jason tries to visit his hometown of Marsh Harbour whenever he can as well as other tropical destinations.

Jason is an avid sports fan and is partial to the South Florida teams he grew up cheering for and, of course, roots for the Hawkeyes.  Jason graduated from high school in his hometown of Marsh Harbour at the age of 15 and spent the following year sailing around the world on the tall ship S.V. Concordia. During his time in the Bahamas, he was also a certified EMT for the Trauma One Ambulance Service, assisting in over 600 emergencies as a volunteer.  Prior to attending law school, Jason also worked in sports broadcasting.
